About the programme:

How can stories grow from our personal curiosities?

Let imagination lead the way and discover a world of inspiration waiting to be uncovered across the Museum and the Gallery. In this session, ākonga will engage with objects, taonga, and artworks as a launching point for creative word play. As we move through our exhibition spaces, learners will gather inspiration and formulate their own creative responses; whether it’s descriptive writing, shared storytelling or visual narration this program is adaptable to embrace all learning styles and ages.

Extend the experience back at school with an optional follow-up collective writing lesson or publishing project opportunity inspired by your visit. Ākonga can work together to develop a shared story, zine or comic to continue building confidence with language.
