About the programme

How can art making develop curiosity and creativity in our youngest tamariki?

This session offers a gentle, play based introduction to creativity, exploration, and the joy of making. In small groups, tamariki will be guided through friendly exhibits where they can explore ideas, objects, and artworks in developmentally appropriate, playful, and sensory rich ways.

These sessions support mana aotūroa/exploration by encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and problem solving through touch, movement, sound, and imaginative play. Tamariki are empowered to follow their own interests, express ideas and build confidence in a warm, welcoming environment that fosters wellbeing and belonging.

To support meaningful learning, kaiako are invited to share their focus areas, interests, and timeframes so each session can be thoughtfully tailored to the strengths and needs of their learners.
