Flexible Visits for Diverse Learners

Every ākonga experiences the world differently. Some learners may need more time, movement, quieter spaces, smaller groups, or different ways to participate. We welcome these differences and work with teachers and support staff to shape a museum visit that feels comfortable, engaging, and meaningful for neurodivergent learners. 

Each experience can be adapted around the interests, strengths, sensory preferences, and support needs of the group. This may include flexible pacing, movement breaks, hands-on exploration, sensory-friendly options, or time away from busier spaces. 

Our educators create space for ākonga to look, listen, move, wonder, communicate, and connect in ways that work for them.
